Every year I anticipate blueberry season. The picking season is short, and I like to gather enough for a batch of jam and a couple yogurt containers to top my cereal for at least a week plus as many as I can eat while picking. Everybody has their own "secret" patch. Foraging and canning wild food makes me feel connected to my matriarchal lineage. Stumbling on a patch of wild blueberries feels like magic.
