This ten week course is intended to leave you with the knowledge of how to approach a variety of ceramic themes using basic hand building techniques. It will also present a selection of historic and contemporary ceramic and art objects for reference and inspiration.

All classes will take place online through Zoom, so you will need a laptop or computer close to where you want to set up your work space. Zoom is free to download, but you will need to set that up before our first meeting. Meetings will be recorded and available online through Google Docs in case you miss one. Reference/ inspiration images will also be available online every Friday afternoon.

We will cover several techniques to get you comfortable with the hand building basics. This will be appropriate for beginner beginners and more advanced artists wanting to add on to their skill set. The workshop will be project based, and we will be looking at historical and contemporary examples of objects to get our creative juices flowing.

The fee for this workshop will cover your materials, but not your tools. You will receive a PDF outlining some suggested tools after you checkout.

The first ten week workshop will run Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5 to 8pm, September 15th to November 19th. Space is limited to 10 participants. Please email with questions or for more information.
